START YOUR DAMN PODCAST
Launch your podcast in four weeks.
Not learn how to start one. Not spend another six months Googling microphones, comparing hosting platforms, saving podcast tips on Instagram, and telling everyone, “I really want to start a podcast.”
Actually launch the damn thing.
Start Your Damn Podcast is a five-week LIVE accelerator for entrepreneurs, coaches, experts, creators, and professionals who are ready to turn what they know into an owned platform that builds authority and creates opportunity.
We kick off September 2nd.
Five weeks. Four live coaching calls. Real-time mentorship. A private community. Everything recorded.
And by the end of it, you won’t be saying, “I’ve been thinking about starting a podcast.”
You’ll have one.
I’m celebrating 400 episodes by helping you launch Episode One.
I started podcasting in 2020.
I definitely didn’t know when I hit record on those early episodes that six years later I’d be sitting here celebrating nearly 400 of them.
And I really didn’t understand yet what that decision was going to do for my career.
I thought I was” just” starting a podcast.
What I was actually building was a platform.
A reputation.
A body of work.
A place where people could hear how I think, what I believe, what I challenge, who I am, and what kind of conversations I want to be part of.
That podcast has introduced me to people I probably never would have met otherwise.
It’s helped create coaching clients, speaking opportunities, referrals, collaborations, partnerships, media opportunities, friendships, and some pretty incredible conversations.
But even more importantly, recording nearly 400 episodes has taught me how to communicate.
How to interview someone.
How to tell a better story.
How to trust my own perspective.
How to have a point of view.
How to walk into rooms with something to say because I’ve spent six years practicing saying it.
That’s the part of podcasting nobody openly talks about.
You think you’re building an audience.
And somewhere along the way, you build authority. And if done well, at scale!
You do not need another platform you rent.
We’ve been told for years to post more.
Get on Instagram.
Get on LinkedIn.
Make Reels.
Try TikTok.
Figure out the algorithm.
Post at the right time.
Use the right hook.
And listen, I use those platforms too, and apply a lot of effort to market my show and my brand, but your entire body of work should not live somewhere that can change the rules tomorrow.
A podcast gives you something different. It gives you a place for your ideas to actually live. Someone can find you today and listen to an episode you recorded three years ago.
A potential client can listen to five episodes before ever getting on a call with you.
A speaking organizer can hear how you communicate.
A future collaborator can get a feel for who you are.
A brand can understand what you stand for.
A stranger can spend an hour with you while they’re driving to work, walking their dog, or folding laundry.
That matters. And might be why you're here reading this sales page.
Podcast episodes aren’t just content.
They’re proof.
Proof of what you know.
Proof of what you believe.
Proof of how you think.
Proof of the conversations you belong in.
And when you continue building that library over time, something interesting starts happening.
People begin knowing you before they ever meet you. That’s authority.
“But Jess, I can learn how to start a podcast on YouTube.”
Of course you can.
You can also learn how to remodel your kitchen on YouTube.
That does not mean I want to be standing in my kitchen six months from now surrounded by power tools, three different kinds of tile, a cabinet door that doesn’t close, and a 47-part tutorial explaining why the plumbing I installed backwards is now leaking through the ceiling.
Information isn’t the problem anymore.
We have more information than any generation of humans has ever had access to.
You can Google microphones.
You can Google podcast hosting.
You can Google “how do I upload my podcast to Spotify?”
You can ask AI to give you 100 podcast episode ideas before you finish your coffee.
That’s not why most people haven’t launched.
The problem is knowing what actually matters.
Knowing what you can ignore.
Knowing whether your idea is good.
Knowing if your show has a clear point of view.
Knowing whether your title works.
Knowing what your first episodes should be.
Knowing how to structure an interview so it doesn’t sound like every other interview on the internet.
And having someone in the room who can say:
Nope. Don’t overcomplicate this.
Yes. That’s the angle.
Change that title.
Record the episode.
Send the pitch.
Stop tweaking the artwork.
Hit publish.
That’s mentorship.
And that’s exactly why I’m teaching this live.
Launching a podcast is actually the easy part.
The harder part is continuing to show up when nobody’s clapping yet. When the downloads aren’t impressive. When you’re talking into a microphone wondering if anybody is listening. When life gets busy. When business gets hard. When the first excitement wears off and you start wondering whether you really have anything else to say.
Building authority isn’t about recording ten episodes. It’s about becoming the kind of person who keeps recording Episode 200 when life gets messy.
That’s a completely different skill set. And it’s one of the biggest reasons I’m teaching this live instead of handing you a folder full of videos and wishing you luck.
Because yes, I’m going to teach you how to launch a podcast. But I also want to help you build one you can actually sustain.
A show that fits your life and a cadence you can realistically maintain.
A strategy you understand.
A platform that continues getting stronger because you keep showing up for it.
Authority isn’t built in the announcement of X.
It’s built in repetition.
This isn’t another podcast “course.” It’s an accelerator.
There will absolutely be trainings.
There will be templates.
There will be resources, worksheets, recommendations, examples, and everything you need to understand the technical side of getting a podcast live.
But I don’t want you finishing this program knowing more about podcasting.
I want you finishing this program with a freakin podcast.
There’s a huge difference!
So during these five weeks, we’re actually going to build the thing.
You’ll have access to me live every week to ask questions, get feedback, troubleshoot what isn’t working, make decisions faster, and keep moving instead of getting stuck researching something that should have taken you 20 minutes.
This is real-time mentorship while you launch.
First, we build the Foundation
Before we touch microphones, artwork, or hosting platforms, we need to know what the hell your show is about.
Not vaguely. Clearly.
Because a podcast about “business, mindset, wellness, motherhood, life, entrepreneurship, relationships, spirituality and whatever else I feel like talking about” is not a strategy.
We’re going to get clear on:
Your show concept.
Who you’re actually talking to.
What you want your podcast to become known for.
Your positioning.
Your show name.
Your podcast description.
The point of view underneath the show.
The types of conversations you want to own.
Your solo versus guest strategy.
Your first ten episode ideas.
And how your podcast supports the bigger business, brand, career, or body of work you’re building.
You’re not starting a podcast just because having one sounds fun.
We’re building it with intention.
THEN, WE GET THE DAMN THING RECORDED.
You do not need a $10,000 podcast studio. But if you do have 10k I’ll help you spend it wisely!
You also probably shouldn’t be recording Episode One into the speakerphone on your iPhone while your dishwasher is running.
There’s a middle ground.
I’ll walk you through the equipment, software, recording options, editing choices, hosting platforms, and production setup so you can make smart decisions without turning this into a second career.
We’ll cover:
Simple.
Efficient.
Professional.
Sustainable.
THEN WE LEARN HOW TO CREATE A SHOW PEOPLE ACTUALLY WANT TO LISTEN TO.
THEN WE LAUNCH WITH A PLAN.
I do not want you quietly uploading Episode One on a random Tuesday and hoping somebody magically finds it.
Your launch is an opportunity.
We’re going to treat it like one.
You’ll build a real pre-launch and post-launch strategy so your podcast enters the world with momentum.
We’ll talk about:
Your trailer.
Your launch episodes.
Pre-launch marketing.
Launch week.
How many episodes to release.
How to activate the audience you already have.
How to get people sharing your show.
How to turn episodes into additional content.
How to market without posting “NEW EPISODE!!!” every Tuesday for the rest of your life.
How to use your podcast to create relationships and opportunities.
And what happens after launch so you don’t disappear after four weeks.
The goal isn’t one exciting launch week.
The goal is building a platform that compounds.
BONUS: BECOME THE GUEST EVERYONE WANTS TO INVITE BACK.
Your own podcast is only one side of the strategy.
The other?
Borrowed audiences.
There are thousands of podcast hosts who already have the exact people you want to reach listening to their shows.
You don’t need to wait until your own audience becomes enormous.
You can walk into existing conversations.
But there is an art to being a great podcast guest.
I’ll teach you how to pitch yourself without sending one of those painfully generic “I would love to bring value to your audience” emails everyone deletes.
How to identify shows that actually make sense for you.
How to position your expertise.
How to give a host several angles they can immediately see becoming an episode.
How to prepare for an interview.
How to tell stories instead of giving canned answers.
How to naturally talk about what you do without turning the interview into one giant commercial.
How to create a conversation listeners remember.
And how to turn someone else’s audience into discovery for your own platform.
This is how you start connecting borrowed media to owned media.
You appear on their podcast.
Their audience discovers you.
They come into your world.
They find your podcast.
Your platform grows.
Your authority grows.
Your opportunities grow.
That is a much bigger strategy than “get more downloads.”
HERE’S EXACTLY WHAT’S INCLUDED.
Four weeks of live mentorship and coaching with me.
Our live calls are Wednesdays at 9:00 AM Pacific:
Every live session will be recorded, so if you can’t attend one live, you won’t miss the training.
You’ll also have access to our private community throughout the entire four weeks so you can ask questions, get support, share what you’re working on, celebrate wins, and get unstuck between calls.
You’ll receive supporting videos and resources you can work through on your own schedule, along with tools including:
And additional resources from six years and nearly 400 episodes of figuring out what actually matters and what absolutely does not.
this is for you if…
You’ve been saying you want to start a podcast for a year, two years, maybe five years, and you’re officially tired of hearing yourself say it.
You have expertise, experiences, ideas, opinions, stories, or conversations that deserve a larger platform.
You’re an entrepreneur, coach, consultant, professional, author, speaker, creator, or expert who wants to build real authority around your work.
You want an owned platform instead of building your entire brand on social media.
You know a podcast could support your business but you’ve been overwhelmed by the logistics.
You’ve started researching before and somehow ended up with 14 browser tabs open and no podcast.
You want someone experienced in your corner while you build it.
You’re willing to actually record, publish, experiment, learn, and get better.
And you’re ready to stop waiting until you magically feel ready.
THIS IS PROBABLY NOT FOR YOU IF...
You’re looking for overnight fame.
You think launching a podcast automatically means thousands of downloads.
You want someone else to do all of the work while you watch.
You’re unwilling to practice being a beginner.
Or you’d rather spend another year planning than four weeks actually doing it.
Because confidence does not come before publishing.
It comes because you published.
Then you publish again.
And again.
And eventually the thing that once felt terrifying becomes something you simply know how to do.
Why Learn This From Me?
Because I’ve actually done it.
For six years.
Nearly 400 times.
I’ve interviewed hundreds of entrepreneurs, experts, authors, coaches, founders, and incredible humans.
I’ve recorded episodes when I felt inspired.
I’ve recorded episodes when I absolutely did not.
I’ve changed formats.
Changed production.
Changed the name of the show.
Learned how to become a better interviewer.
Learned how to trust my own voice.
Made plenty of mistakes.
Changed my mind.
Improved my systems.
And kept going.
The Jessica Burgio Show has ranked in the top 1.5% of podcasts globally, but the metric I care about even more is what this platform has created outside of the podcast charts.
Relationships.
Clients.
Introductions.
Collaborations.
Speaking.
Opportunities.
Authority.
You aren’t paying me to teach you where the “publish” button is.
You’re paying me to shorten the learning curve.
There are six years of things I had to figure out by doing them wrong first.
You don’t need to spend six years learning all of them yourself.
IMAGINE IT’S THE END OF SEPTEMBER.
Your podcast exists.
Your trailer is live.
Your first episodes are out in the world.
You know how to record.
You understand your workflow.
You know what your next episodes are about.
You’ve learned how to interview guests.
You’ve started reaching out to people you’d love to have conversations with.
You know how to pitch yourself onto other shows.
You have a platform you can point people toward.
And the next time somebody asks what you do or what you’re working on, you don’t have to say:
“I’ve actually been thinking about starting a podcast.”
You get to say:
“I have a podcast. Here’s the link.”
That might look like one sentence.
It isn’t.
That’s a different identity.
THE PODCAST ISN’T THE GOAL.
The person you become by committing to it is.
Because eventually this stops being about microphones.
It becomes about your willingness to be heard.
Your willingness to have an opinion.
Your willingness to initiate conversations.
Your willingness to reach out to people you admire.
Your willingness to say the thing you actually believe instead of the thing you think everyone will agree with.
Your willingness to keep showing up when nobody is clapping yet.
That’s how authority gets built.
And authority creates opportunity.
YOU CAN START “SOMEDAY.”
Or you can start now.
You can spend another year researching microphones.
You can watch another 17 YouTube videos.
You can save another carousel called “10 Things You Need Before Starting a Podcast.”
You can rename the Notes app folder where you’ve been keeping podcast ideas since 2023.
Or you can give yourself four weeks, some real mentorship, a room full of other people doing it alongside you, and finally build the damn thing.
Four weeks from now, you could still be thinking about your podcast.
Or people could be listening to it.
I know which one I’d choose.
